guelder rosebush (viburnum opulus)

Leadburn Community Woodland – September 2025

There are lots of signs of autumn now at the Woodland: alder ‘strobiles’; guelder rosebush (viburnum opulus) dripping with berries; puffballs; and a ruby tiger moth caterpillar.

Our faithful volunteers have been busy:  those with shorter legs will be pleased to see the addition of a step on to the viewing platform at Craigburn Pond;  volunteers have also been clearing sludge and weed from the little ‘Frog’ pond.
