We have been selling freshly cut Christmas trees from the woodland since 2009.
Christmas Tree Sales 2026
Dates for Christmas tree sales 2026 will be published here later this year.
2025 Prices :
- £20 for small trees (less than five feet tall)
- £25 for a 5-7 ft tree,
- £30 for a large tree (more than 7ft tall)

All trees are freshly cut from the woodland, many will be cut less than a week before you buy them. We keep them in top condition by standing them in water in our ditches prior to sale.
Access to the tree sales is from the layby off the A703 about a mile towards Peebles from the Leadburn junction.
We sell lodgepole pines, which are lovely soft-needled pines that are great for holding their needles and should last well into January. We also have sitka spruce, which some people prefer as they have more branches and smaller needles. The sitkas will shed more needles but are usually fine if you keep them in a water stand.

Non native Sitka spruce and lodgepole pine from the original forestry plantation at Leadburn still grow up around the woodland. However, we want to encourage native species regeneration, so each year we thin out the young spruce and pine trees and offer them for sale.
The Leadburn Christmas trees are self seeded and have not been grown uniformly as they would be in a commercial nursery. Your Leadburn tree has grown naturally and each will have its own unique character. The volunteers choose and harvest a large selection of trees and you can browse and select your own favourite.
The tree sales generate funds so that we can continue the work of restoring the woodland and moss areas. The money provides finance for materials and occasional contract work. We usually generate a surplus that we pass on to local charities and conservation groups.
