Leadburn Community Woodland – July 2026
The Woodland has been buzzing with life this month – lots of insect and amphibian life including newts, butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies. Caught on camera are a Common Newt in the Laboratory pond, a Burnet Moth and a Large Emerald Moth, well camouflaged in the second photo.
This July, the Woodland flora has been particularly vigorous and colourful. Here are a few examples: Red Clover, Loosestrife, Lady’s Bedstraw and Dog Rose. It’s also great to see new tree seedlings – some tiny oaks have been sprouting.
